Sarah Fortunée Tabbakh - English Version Editor
Born and raised in Lebanon, Sarah moved to Canada to study Anthropology at the Université de Montréal. After obtaining her Bachelor’s, she moved to Florence to follow a Professional Vocational Course in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Goods, specializing in stone materials, and graduated first of her section from the Istituto per l’Arte e il Restauro - Palazzo Spinelli in 2016. She then spent one year in Montreal during which she learned about the restoration and conservation in North America, following courses and conferences, and meeting local restorers and artists, with whom she would exchange experiences, views and ideas.
Back to Florence in 2017, she collaborated with her tutor in restoration projects of architectural elements in the historical center of the city. She moved to Rome a year later to follow a six-month internship in the Laboratory of Conservation of Stone Materials in the Vatican Museums, and has since collaborated with different organizations as an interpreter and translator for restoration projects. Being English and French mothertongue, she obtained her teaching certificates and is currently teaching languages in Rome, all the while collaborating with various institutions on restoration projects.
Her passions include arts - sculpture, architecture, literature and music - and she has a deep interest in history and art history. It is no wonder she has fallen in love with Italy!'

She is currently a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) candidate at The University of York, applying cutting-edge bioarchaeological techniques to the human remains research. She has developed this interest during her two years paid internship at the Museum of Anthropology “Giuseppe Sergi” (2013-2015) at Sapienza, deepening it during her “Excellent Carieer” project won in 2016 and carried out at the Laboratory of Bioarchaeology at Sapienza.
In 2017, she achieved the “Prominent Graduate” award, a prize reserved to the best 400 students of Sapienza for the 2015-2016 academic year.
